INDIAN (SINGING) DOG

Long before the Indians had horses, the Song Dogs were around. They were used for hunting, as a herder, draft and pack animal, watchdog and babysitter.

The American Indian dog is intelligent, loyal, faithful, instinctive and can be reserved with strangers. The Indian singing dog has a very expressive body language and communicates with a high-pitched squeaky voice, making it appear as if it is singing. He is very attached to a person or 1 family and gets along very well with children.

Like wolfdogs, the Indian dog is very difficult to rehome.

This dog will learn quickly if you do it with patience, they like to work and are also used for flyball, agility, sledding, frisbee and dog scootering. The Indian Dog needs plenty of exercise, but like a true pack animal, he always wants to be around you. This very special breed is not for everyone!
